After beginning their search around Christmas time in 2020, Kelly and Chris Morgan finally found their dream home for their growing family in April 2021. What felt like a lifetime of searching and disappointments finally came to an end with the help of St. Modwen Homes.
The journey, at times, was somewhat testing. The couple and their children, viewed a whole range of properties, but nothing felt like it was their forever home. They had managed to save a decent sized deposit for their home, but with a baby on the way life had become much busier. Working as a care manager for people with mental health and learning difficulties, looking after the family, and searching for their next abode was beginning to seem like an impossible task for Kelly, until they found St. Modwen Homes.

The right choice
“We had actually visited quite a lot of housebuilders’ developments but couldn’t find what we were looking for. We did a lot of research but as soon as we saw St. Modwen Homes’ properties, they really stood out to us.
“The Fairways development had a far better and much more appealing location and the higher standard of work along with the finish of craftsmanship was a huge factor in choosing a St. Modwen Homes property. We tried a lot of housebuilders and locations, but The Fairways development was located perfectly for us. We are now close to local amenities, great schools and nurseries, and the commute is much easier for my husband.”
Our dream home
Kelly and Chris opted for the stunning Webster 3-bedroom home, located on The Fairways development. When asked what their favourite thing about their new home was, Kelly opened up about her dream home, saying:
“We absolutely love the open plan kitchen/dining area and hallway. This was a really important factor to us when we moved as we didn’t have this before. We really loved the finishes and layout, and it’s great that we have a place where we can all enjoy family time together.”
Despite not initially searching for a new build home, Kelly and Chris fell in love with the modern new builds on The Fairways development, stating:

Making our house a home
In order to turn a house into a home, personal touches are important. When asked about their additional options and upgrades, Kelly answered:
“We opted for flooring , tiles, carpets, and blinds as additional extras within the house – and they were all completed before we moved in. This made the whole process of moving in so much easier, knowing we didn’t have to install it all once we arrived.
“And the process couldn’t have been smoother. The St. Modwen Homes team made it so straightforward and guided us every step of the way when it came to deciding what options and upgrades to choose from. They provided us with a book of products which were available, meaning we got to go through and pick which ones would be right for our new home – the whole process was seamless.”
Securing our dream home
“We were lucky enough to have support with the Help to Buy Scheme when securing our home. We already had quite a decent sized deposit saved, but this really helped to take a chunk off the costs and get us in our home faster.
“It was a really easy transaction as we didn’t previously own a property and lived in a council property before. We initially looked at buying the house we lived in but even after the discount it wouldn’t have been worth it as we would have needed to make quite a few changes to really put our own stamp on it.
“I had actually lived in council houses for 19 years, living initially with my mum prior to my last house. This is the first house that we had both bought and it really doesn’t even feel real – still to this day; it was so exciting!”
The aftercare was amazing
When asked about the service and aftercare, Kelly was extremely impressed by the team.
“We’ve got two different site managers who we have been speaking with since moving in, they have even popped over a couple of times to help us out. For example, they provided us with several skips to help us get rid of rubbish as there’s so much that comes with the moving process.
“We had an especially good Sales Consultant, Julie, who works at the development – I actually still speak to her now. Before there were even any bricks on the ground she was on site and has been there since day one, keeping us in the loop. She has been really lovely – as have the rest of the team.”
Community feels
One of the things that stood out to the couple was the thriving community life at The Fairways development. When asked about The Fairways community, Kelly only had good things to say:
“Our neighbours either side of us and opposite us have all introduced themselves, making it feel like we are all part of a community. With regards to the development as a whole, St. Modwen Homes has been really good at communicating any outstanding work and making us aware of when it’s taking place ahead of time.”

“Overall, I just want to get across how supportive St. Modwen Homes has been. Anything I wanted to know they would help me with there and then – I never had to wait around or get told “we’ll get back to you”.
