Your wellbeing at work

Policies

Overview

We rely on everyone at St. Modwen working as a team and performing at their best. Sometimes you may require additional support to achieve this, particularly if you have a disability or ongoing health condition.
We provide a number of services and support functions to help you with your day-to-day work and mitigate any risk to your health and safety.

Employee assistance programme (EAP)

We provide access to an employee assistance helpline which is free of charge, confidential and available 24-hours a day. They provide advice on a range of topics including relationships, work, bereavement, family, stress and finance. You can call the 24-hour helpline on 0800 030 5182. You can also request face-to-face counselling through the EAP programme. There is more information on Catalyst on the People page.

Occupational Health (OH)

Occupational Health provides St. Modwen with a medical view on underlying health conditions or if we have any concerns about your health and wellbeing. OH reviews are essential to understand employee health problems, obtain information on your current prognosis and help you to be your best at work. They also help us consider any adjustments to your work environment. If you feel an OH review would be beneficial please speak to your line manager.

First aid

We provide a first aider at every site and office and always aim to have a minimum of two first aiders present. Please report all accidents at work to a first aider immediately, so we can provide the correct medical attention and accurately record the incident. Always remember that nothing is so important it cannot be done safely.

We also have a number of registered mental health first aiders to support you if you are struggling with your mental health. If you have a mental health condition or just want someone to talk to, mental health first aiders can be a valuable support. We would always encourage you to talk about how you are feeling with your line manager to see if there are any further adjustments that can be made. Display screen equipment assessment If you work in a role that involves a significant amount of PC work, you should complete an online DSE risk assessment regularly to ensure your workstation is set up correctly, mitigating any longterm issues. The assessment is managed by the H&S team and can be located here.

Travelling with work

Your wellbeing is important to us, so if you are travelling with work, please use sensible discretion when considering whether you need overnight accommodation due to an early start or late finish.

Scope

This information applies to all current employees of St. Modwen plc regardless of your length of service.
