This applies to all aspects of your employment, including recruitment, pay and conditions, training, ‘personal best’, promotion, performance at work, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and termination of employment.

Diversity and inclusion statement

The company is a business that thinks differently. We seek to challenge the norm and to see and deliver potential where others do not. We are committed to changing places to create a better future.

We are striving to create a culture that is inspiring and inclusive, one where difference is valued, enabling us all to perform at our best and realise our potential. We are ambitious, for ourselves and for our employees. We are committed to attracting and retaining the best, diverse talent and want the company to be a place of inspiration, advancement and recognition for everyone who works, or wants to work, for us. We also recognise the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment where our people can bring their whole selves to work. We also recognise that celebrating ideas and embracing diversity of thought nurtures innovation and helps to ensure that even the quietest voices are always heard. In addition to this, the company strive to provide equal opportunities for all, enabling us to develop our talent from within, by providing fair and transparent opportunities for promotion and transfer.

We are clear that our business should reflect the communities in which we live, work and serve, and we are taking action to ensure that equality, and diversity and inclusion are integral to all that we do. We know that reflecting our communities gives us a stronger understanding and helps us to build shared values and deep, sustainable relationships.

Our commitment to diversity reflects our values and we are committed to ensuring that everyone in the business feels respected and included. We encourage everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, marital or civil partner status, gender identity or expression, race, religion or belief, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, disability, age or pregnancy to realise their full potential.

Principles

Discrimination

Discrimination occurs when someone is treated unfairly due to them possessing a characteristic that is protected by the Equality Act (2010). You must not unlawfully discriminate against or harass anyone, including current and former employees, job applicants, guests, suppliers, and visitors. This applies in the workplace, outside the workplace (when dealing with employees, suppliers, or other work-related contacts), and on work-related trips or events, including social events.

Recruitment and selection

Recruitment, promotion, and other selection processes such as redundancy selection, will be conducted on the basis of merit, against objective criteria that avoid discrimination.

Disabilities

If you are disabled or become disabled, please tell us about your condition so that we can consider what reasonable adjustments or support would be appropriate.

Part-time and fixed-term work

Part-time and fixed-term employees will be treated the same as full-time or permanent employees in similar roles with no less favourable terms and conditions (on a pro-rata basis where appropriate) unless different treatment is justified.

Gender pay reporting

We review our gender pay gap report each year and strive to address any disparities to ensure everyone at the company can be confident they enjoy equal reward, opportunity, and support.

Monitoring our workforce profile

We ask employees to volunteer diversity and inclusion data so that we can monitor our progress on becoming a more diverse workforce.

Breaches of this policy

We have a zero tolerance to breaches of this policy, and they will be dealt with through our Disciplinary policy. Serious cases of deliberate discrimination may be classed as gross misconduct and could result in dismissal.

We hope you never come across bullying, discrimination or harassment at the company, but if you believe you have been a victim please speak to your manager or HR Operations immediately. You can also refer to our Bullying and harassment policy or raise the matter through our Grievance policy.

We do not tolerate any form of retaliatory intimidation, discrimination or bullying because someone has raised a legitimate concern. However, making a false allegation deliberately and in bad faith will be treated as misconduct and dealt with under our Disciplinary policy.
