Number 11 has received a £10,000 donation from St. Modwen Homes to help the charity support individuals experiencing mental health issues, as well as those with unemployment and debt difficulties.

Based in the town of Burslem, Number 11 provides workshops, one to one support, counselling, meals, games & laughter for vulnerable people in the local community with complex needs.

Located a short walk from our Kiln Gate development, Number 11’s centre on Chapel Lane acts as a community hub where people can gather to eat, socialise or take part in music, craft and art groups. They provide a safe place with trained staff to take these people on a journey from acceptance through to stability, with a few properties to help with independent living.

Alongside this, individuals can undertake educational courses in IT, Maths, and English, as well as workshops on cooking, budgeting, gardening and job hunting.

The funds will go towards the works for an internal upgrade to one of Number 11’s residential properties. The work will include replastering, redecoration throughout, new door frames and doors, carpet and underlay, curtains and blinds, and the modernisation of various fixtures and fittings.

The donation will also be used to supply new tables and chairs for the Number 11 centre, allowing more scope for the charity to provide training, activities, and meals for vulnerable members of the local community.

James Mulcahy, Regional Managing Director – North, at St. Modwen Homes, says: “We’re committed to supporting our local communities and when we heard about the brilliant work Number 11 was doing, we didn’t hesitate in offering our support. This charity is invaluable within the community and we hope our donation helps it continue to offer vital care to those who need it most.”

Rob Stanway, Operations Manager, at Number 11, says: “We’re hugely grateful for St Modwen Homes’ support. The work we do relies on generous donations from local businesses. Without these donations, we wouldn’t be able to provide the vulnerable people in our community with this life-changing support, and for this we are incredibly thankful.”
