It’s the season of giving at Blythe Bridge

Local residents who live in and around Blythe Bridge and Draycott le Moors and visit St. Margaret’s Church and Church Hall, will no longer need to travel on a heavily pot-holed road thanks to St. Modwen Homes. The homebuilder has supplied the labour and materials to fully resurface Church Lane following a request for help from members of the parish.

Founded around 1268, St. Margaret’s Church serves the communities of  Draycott-le-Moors and Cresswell, but travel to the church was becoming increasingly difficult due to the poor condition of the only access road. As a gesture of goodwill, St. Modwen Homes offered to resurface the  road leading up to St. Margaret’s Church and the Church Hall, all in a single day!

Commenting on the support received from St. Modwen Homes, Joyce Moore, member of St. Margaret’s Church and Church Hall Committee, said:

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to St. Modwen Homes on behalf of the whole community for taking the time and trouble to repair Church Lane. The lane was in very poor condition and was becoming almost impossible to drive to the hall and the church. The Church Hall relies entirely on a voluntary committee, so this would not have been possible without the help from St. Modwen Homes.”

Kieran James, Contracts Manager at St. Modwen Homes, said:

“We know how important it is to make a positive impact on communities where we build. St. Margaret’s Church is an integral part of the local community, so when they reached out to us about the poor condition of Church Lane, we were more than happy to offer our support. We know that some of the work leading up to the launch of our new development has caused disruption in the area, so this is our way of making a positive contribution to the community.”

St. Modwen Homes has launched a collection of three and four-bedroom homes at its Blythe Fields development in Blythe Bridge.
