St. Modwen Homes leg up for new community football club in Ashby-de-la-Zouch

We have donated £500 to fund brand new kits for the under 10’s team, known as the Cavaliers, at Ashby United Community Football Club.

Established at the start of 2020, prior to the Coronavirus pandemic, the club was created to meet the expanding demands for local sports clubs in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Although they are newly founded, Ashby United CFC already has 120 registered members of all ages training in 10 different teams.

Leigh Godfrey, club treasurer at Ashby United CFC said: “We are extremely thankful for St. Modwen Homes’ kind donation towards the home kits for our Cavaliers team. While the sponsorship has paid for the 2020/2021 kit, it has also allowed us to free up some funds to purchase coaching equipment, pay for winter training facilities and to cover league/match fees.

“The kits have arrived and they look fantastic – we can’t wait for the team to show them off once we are allowed to do so. On behalf of everyone at Ashby United CFC, I would like to say a huge thank you to St. Modwen Homes.”

Dave Smith, Managing Director at St. Modwen Homes said: “Now, more than ever, it’s important to support local community groups like Ashby United CFC. Clubs like this are vital to our communities and give youngsters the chance to socialise, learn new skills and build confidence.

“We are delighted to offer our support to this fantastic club and we can’t wait to see the team playing in their new kit. We wish the Cavaliers the best of luck for the season.”
