The average age of first-time buyers across the UK is now approaching 30, but for Derbyshire couple, Nick and Lucy, using the government’s Help to Buy scheme meant they were able to get on the property ladder at Branston Leas aged just 19 and 21.
“Buying a home together at our age would have been out of the question had it not been for Help to Buy. The 5% deposits, with a 75% mortgage and 20% equity loan from the government, made saving seem less daunting and starting our life together with reality, along with Milo our beagle puppy.
“We knew we wanted a new build from the start and, having done our research, decided St. Modwen Homes was the housebuilder for us. Branston Leas is in a great location, it’s easy for both of us to get to work and with the shops at Branston Square, there’s everything we need right on our doorstep. Not to mention, Branston Leas Woods, which is great for Milo.
“After speaking to the Sales Team at Branston Leas, we visited another St. Modwen Homes’ development, Edison Place in Rugby, to see the Kemble Show Home and knew it was the one for us. We loved the layout and how bright and spacious the rooms were, especially downstairs with the French doors that lead to the garden from the kitchen and dining room and now we’re in, we love having our own space.
“Jenny and Ben in the Sales Team were really helpful throughout the process, answering all of our questions along the way and we’d definitely recommend buying with St. Modwen Homes. Now, instead of saving for a deposit, we’re saving for our wedding day and we couldn’t be happier.”
