Peter Walters, Course Team Leader at Stoke-on-Trent College, said:
”We would like to thank St. Modwen Homes for allowing us to visit the Trentham Manor site. All of our students gained invaluable insight, knowledge and resources to assist them with their coursework and assignments.
“The site visit provided a real working environment and allowed them to see legislation and policies in place for the health and safety of everyone on-site.”
Carl Bradshaw, Project Manager at St. Modwen Homes’ Trentham Manor development, said:
“As a former student of Stoke-on-Trent College, I felt a real sense of pride to show the BTEC students around the development and give them an overview of the day-to-day construction activities on the site. Getting pupils out of the classroom and into a practical learning environment is imperative. During the visit, we discussed the health and safety aspects of the site, went through the programme of work and walked the site so the students could view different stages of the build. It is always a pleasure to welcome young construction students to site, and our site teams across the UK will always endeavour to accommodate visits from schools and colleges where possible.”
